Condom Stuffed Into Avon Lake Man's Mailbox
The man has been the victim of previous harassment incidents. Police swabbed the item for DNA.

AVON LAKE, OH — Someone put a condom, filled with a brown substance, into an Avon Lake man's mailbox last week. The man has been the victim of previous harassment incidents. Police swabbed the condom and the brown substance for DNA and then disposed of the item.

Disturbance, Aug. 24 — Police were called to a residence on Aqua Marine Boulevard for a disturbance. Police found a man and woman were creating the ruckus. Both people were advised of their situation and the woman decided to leave for the night.

Telecommunications Harassment, Aug. 25 — A couple came to the police station to report that a woman's ex husband and her new husband have been exchanging harassing emails and phone calls. The ex has been warned several times to cease communication and the couple now wishes to pursue legal action.
Animal Complaint, Aug. 25 — A resident on Fairfield Road reported dogs running loose near their residence. Police tracked down the pups and the dogs' owner. The owner was cited.

Theft, Aug. 26 — Someone stole a 16-year-old's bicycle while he was playing baseball at Blesser Park. The bike had been left unlocked and unattended. Police searched the park area but were unable to located the bicycle.
Drug Possession, Aug. 27 — Police stopped a car on Sunset Road because it's owner was coming up as wanted in Garfield Heights. The driver was arrested for possession of drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia. Suspected drugs were also taken from the vehicle and were sent out for testing.
Theft, Aug. 28 — A resident came to the Avon Lake Police Station to report they had been the victim of a scam. The resident met a person through an employment website. That person sent the resident a $3,000 check for "work supplies" and asked the resident to send $2,500 back. The resident did so before later learning the check had bounced.
Criminal Mischief, Sept. 4 — A condom filled with a brown substance was found in an Avon Lake man's mailbox. The substance and condom were swabbed for DNA and disposed of. The resident has been the victim of previous harassment incidents.
