Cops Chase Off Squatters At Avon Lake School

Two men were spotted hanging out on the roof of a shed at Troy Intermediate School. They were chased down by cops and cited.

AVON LAKE, OH — Callers reported a pair of suspicious men loitering in the area of Belmar Boulevard on June 4. When officers investigated they found two men sitting on the roof of a shed behind Troy Intermediate School. When police approached, the men fled. Traffic Complaint, June 2 - Patrolling officers ran a random license plate check on a car cruising down Avon Belden Road. The driver had a suspended license and was arrested.

Criminal Damaging, June 3 - Someone poured super glue into the garage door lock at an elderly woman's home. The woman's daughter discovered the vandalism and reported it to police. There are no suspects at this time.

Suspicious Person, June 4 - Callers reported suspicious juveniles in the area of Belmar Boulevard and Canterbury Road. Police searched the area and saw two men sitting on the roof of a shed behind Troy School. When an officer approached the duo to talk, the men jumped off the roof and began running. The fleeing suspects were caught and an adult male was cited for disorderly conduct and released. A juvenile male was also caught by police and was released to his mother. He was also cited for disorderly conduct.

Warrant Service, June 4 - A man and woman came to Avon Lake Police Department to request officers stand-by while the woman retrieved items from a residence on Forrest Hill Drive. While talking with the police, it was discovered the man had an outstanding warrant with Massilon Police. The man was taken into custody and transported to Strongsville, where Massilon Police took custody of the man.

Possession of a Controlled Substance, June 4 - Police stopped a car on Walker Road. Officers found marijuana in the driver's possession and cited him for possession of marijuana.
