Couple Attacked While Driving In Avon Lake

AVON LAKE, OH — While driving down Walker Road, waiting for a light to turn green, two adults were assaulted by a 19-year-old Avon Lake man. The man approached their vehicle, began shouting profanities, and then reached through the window and assaulted the passenger.

After attacking the passenger, the Avon Lake man tried to attack the driver. Before leaving, the suspect punched the couple's windshield, cracking it.

After attacking the couple and their car, the Avon Lake man ran to a nearby gas station and jumped in his car. The victims were a 29-year-old Sheffield Lake Man and a 28-year-old Lorain woman. Police say the three people may have known each other. An officer said the assault may have been over someone owing someone else money, but the incident is still under investigation.

An assault warrant has been issued for the Avon Lake man. The case is still under investigation and police say they will release more information once the case has been heard in court.
