Crushers Lose in Bottom of the Ninth

Windy City scores three for walk-off win

A three-run rally in the bottom of the ninth lifted the Windy City Thunderbolts over the , 5-4, Saturday night in Crestwood, Ill.

According to a report from the team, the Crushers (13-21) t00k a 4-2 lead into the bottom of the ninth.Β Ryan Basham started the Thunderbolts' rally with his fourth single of the night. That was followed by aΒ Nick Kuroczko double, and an RBI infield single byΒ Brandon Anderson. Crushers reliever Ruben Flores (2-2,Β 4.95 earned run average) walkedΒ Mike Torres to load the bases, then hitΒ Zack Aakhus to bring in the tying run.Β Devin Shepherd then hit an RBI single for the walk-off win.

Patrick Norris had three singles to lead the Crushers. He has a 10-game hitting streak going.

Nick Mahin hit an RBI double for the Crushers to extend his on-base streak to 19 games.Β Jason Taylor had a single to stretch his on-base streak to 15 games.Β 

Β Jairo Cuevas (0-1, 7.00) takes the mound for the Crushers in Sunday's 7:05 p.m. game against the Thunderbolts Β (20-14).
