
Donald R. Andrews, Jr., 66, of Avon Lake and formerly of Fairmont, WV passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Specialty Hospital of Lorain following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Fairmon on Oct. 14, 1945 and lived in Avon Lake for the past 43 years.
Mr. Andrews graduated from Fairmont High School in 1963 and then served in the Air Force as a jet mechanic until 1967 when he was honorably discharged.

Following the military, he earned a degree from Lorain County Community College and began his career as an engineer with the Ford Motor Company in Lorain. He retired after 32 year of service at the
Mr. Andrews loved woodworking and was was a talented woodworkr, creatng cabinets and furniture. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Irene (nee Bennett); children Donald R. Andrews III (Deanna) of Elyria and Kelly Stiles (Christopher) of Avon Lake; grandchildren Tyler, Maddie and Max; mother Betty (nee Keener) of Fairmont, WV; and sister Joyce Michael of Fairmont, WV. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald R. Andrews Sr.
Friends may call at the 163 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 6 p.m -8 p.m. on Sunday, March 11. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Dr. Rev. Kelly Brill of presiding. Internment at Resthaven Memorial Garden, Avon.
