Driver Fleeing Accident Hides In Girlfriend's Home In Avon Lake
The man hit a parked car at a local restaurant and then drove off. Police found him hiding out in his girlfriend's bedroom.

AVON LAKE, OH — Don't flee the scene of an accident. That simple lesson was learned the hard way for a man that hit a parked car in Avon Lake and then drove off.

Identity Theft, Oct. 21 — An Avon Lake resident's personal information was used in a series of fraudulent transactions with a business. The resident contacted the business and said she had never heard of them or had any dealings with them. The company told the woman to file a report with her local police department.

Traffic Complaint, Oct. 21 — Someone hit a parked car in the Mr. Hero's lot and then drove off. The car belonged to one of the managers of the store, who promptly contacted police after the incident. Officers were able to track the suspected hit-skipper to Avon Lake Apartments. The suspect was hiding in the bedroom of his girlfriend's complex. He was found and arrested.
Traffic Complaint, Oct. 22 — Police stopped a car on Walker Road. The driver had both marijuana and drug paraphernalia in their possession and was cited for both offenses.

Drug Investigation, Oct. 22 — Paramedics and police were called to a home on Lear Road for reports of an unresponsive 28-year-old man. The man was rushed to the Avon Cleveland Clinic for treatment. Police say an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Theft, Oct. 22 — Pallets were stolen from Thogus Oct. 22. Police were called to the business in the evening. A suspicious vehicle was seen during the theft. Officers in Sheffield Village spotted a vehicle matching that description and pulled it over. The driver and passenger were arrested and the vehicle was towed as evidence.
