Driver Flew Past Stopped School Bus: Avon Lake Police

Ignoring the flashing red lights, a 40-year-old man allegedly drove around a stopped school bus. Luckily, the bus driver got his info.

AVON LAKE, OH — A car blew past the flashing red lights of an Avon Lake school bus at the end of April. The driver of the school bus was able to get the man's information and went to the police station and filed a report. Police were then able to track down the suspect, a 40-year-old Avon Lake man, and cite him for failure to stop.

Animal Complaint, April 30 — A dog got loose on Avon Belden Road and attacked another dog. The incident was investigated and the loose dog's owner was cited.

Found Property, May 2 — An iPod was found on a tree lawn in the area of Walker Road and Brittania Parkway. The device was turned into police, but was code locked so officers weren't able to get any information on who might own the iPod. The iPod is a silver, 32-GB, Apple iPod.

Animal Complaint, May 3 — Police investigated reports of barking dogs near Fay Avenue. When officers arrived in the area, four dogs began barking immediately. The owner said that when he's home he makes every effort to reduce the noise. A citation was still given for barking dogs.

Property Damage, May 4 — While driving down Norman Avenue, an Avon Lake man's car was scratched by a tree being chipped down by workers. The man and the tree cutters exchanged insurance information.

Traffic Complaint, May 8 — Police stopped a car for not using its turn signal when turning. The driver had a suspended license. Officers also found marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver was cited for possession of marijuana and driving under suspension.
