Drumming Competition Returns To Avon Lake
On August 4, see drum and bugle corps perform cutting-edge marching band routines at Avon Lake Memorial Stadium.

AVON LAKE, OH — The Shoremen Brass Classic — the city's annual Drum Corps International (DCI) competition — will return to Avon Lake on August 4. The performances will again be held in the Memorial Stadium.
“We are proud to bring this high-level, competitive show back to the community for our seventh year,” said David Eddleman, department chair for the Avon Lake High School Instrumental Music Department, DCI staff member. “This is not your typical high school or college marching band; this is as “professional” as marching band gets. It is Marching Music’s Major League and is thrilling to experience.”
Seven DCI drum and bugle corps from around the United States will compete. This year's show will feature Avon Lake High School's own Kyle Burr, performing for the second year with the Legends of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Christopher Hoch, director of The Ohio State University Marching and Athletic Bands, will be conducting the Buckeye All-Star Band as they perform the National Anthem.
