Duck Tape Festival Returns To Avon On June 13

The free, three-day festival will feature a parade, live music, fireworks and so much more.

AVON, OH — The 16th annual Duck Tape Festival is rapidly approaching. The festival will be held over Father's Day weekend in Avon and the organizers have released the preliminary schedule of events.

The three-day festival is still free. This year's event will feature a "Sweet 16" candy theme, making the event both sticky and sweet. Attendees can also expect a parade, silent disco, duct tape sculptures and more.

The Duck Tape Festival typically draws around 50,000 people during its three-day run. There will be transportation around the festival grounds for attendees.

Here's the schedule for the three-day festival.

On Thursday, the Duck Tape Festival will be open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Families will all get complimentary wristbands that allow them to enjoy unlimited fun on topsy-turvy amusement park rides. There will be a CRUISIN' Car Show at 5 p.m. in the front lot. Musical entertainment for the evening includes Morrison and McCarthy at 5 p.m., in the beer tent, and Bronx Country at 8:30 p.m. on the main stage.

On Friday, June 14, the festival will gain run from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

  • At 5 p.m., there will be music by DJ Flash Gordon in the beer tent.
  • At 8 p.m., Cedar Point Nights will bring a touch of the park to Avon with a beach glow party. Attendees will take part in a silent disco, dancing the night away amidst glowing decoration and music of their choice.
  • Finally, at 8:30 p.m., Bad Company's former lead singer Brian Howe will play a free concert on the main stage.

Finally, on Saturday, June 15, the festival will run from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • The annual Duck Tape parade will start at 10 a.m., featuring floats created by community groups and local businesses.
  • At 2 p.m., "The Rock Academy" from Ron Zehel Guitar Center of Avon Lake will showcase some of the area's up-and-coming talent on the main stage.
  • At 7:30 p.m., Mr. Breeze will play tunes from the main stage.
  • The festival will begin to conclude with a fireworks show by Pyrotecnico at dusk.
  • The annual Duck Tape® parade starts at 10 a.m., showcasing unique Duck Tape® floats created by community groups and local businesses.
