Elyria Bank Robbed Friday Afternoon

A man used a note to demand cash from a teller. Now the FBI is asking the public — do you recognize this man?

ELYRIA, OH — A Fifth Third Bank in Elyria was robbed Friday afternoon. The suspect used a note to rob a teller and then escape with cash.

The robbery happened at about 1:40 p.m., the FBI said. That's when a man came into the bank, handed a demand note to a teller, got the cash, and then ran out of the bank. No one was hurt during the robbery.

The suspect is a white man in his mid-30s. He stands approximately 6 feet 2 inches and weighs about 180 pounds. He was wearing a neon yellow shirt, blue jeans, work boots and sunglasses, the FBI said.

Tips can be provided to the FBI at 440-323-3302 or 216-522-1400. Tips can remain anonymous. Reward money is available for information leading to the successful identification and prosecution of the individual responsible for this robbery, the FBI said in an email.
