Elyria Man Charged With Bringing Teen To Ohio For Sex: DOJ
The Department of Justice announced it had filed a three-count indictment against an Elyria man this month.
ELYRIA, OH - An Elyria man has been charged with bringing a teenage girl from California to Ohio to have sex with him, the Department of Justice said.
Jeremy Cruz, 39, has been indicted for transportation of a minor with intent to engage in unlawful sexual activity, receipt of child pornography and one count of transportation of child pornography.
According to the indictment, Cruz brought a 14-year-old from California to Ohio, with the intent of engaging in sexual activity. These interactions happened between April 13 and April 18, the DOJ said.

The indictment also says that between January 1, 2017 through April 15, 2019, Cruz received images of a real minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Between April 13 and April 18, he also transported numerous images of real minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, the DOJ said.
The investigation into Cruz was led by the Cleveland and Los Angeles offices of the FBI, Avon Lake police, Elyria police, Sheffield Lake police, and Santa Maria (California) police.
