Additionally, another man was convicted by a jury of selling narcotics that led to the fatal overdose of an Elyria woman.

ELYRIA, OH — An Elyria man has been charged with multiple narcotics and firearms offenses, the Department of Justice announced on Thursday. Clint Jackson, 26, faces seven counts relating to the distribution of fentanyl, a heroin synthetic, and cocaine, along with other charges.

Jackson was indicted by a federal grand jury. Having been previously convicted of two felonies, Jackson also faces charges for possession of three firearms in January 2018.

“The entire country is dealing with a surge of overdose deaths as a result of the heroin epidemic,” Elyria Police Chief Duane Whitely said in Aug. 2016 after Lunn was arrested. “Lorain County Ohio is no exception. Lorain County law enforcement agencies have been attacking this epidemic for several years. Selling drugs that result in the someone's death needs to be pursued as a murder. It is no different than killing someone with a gun. Our relationship with the U.S. Attorney's Office has proved to be a winning partnership. By working together, we are able to put these murderers in prison for a long time.”
