Lorain police officers were called to a fatal shooting in an alleyway outside of a bar in May 2018. During the investigation, officers found the .45-caliber handgun and ammunition near the crime scene. The gun had Raymore's DNA on it, the DOJ said.
During the trial, testimony was given that said the firearm found near the murder scene was not the gun that caused the death. The case was prosecuted as part of the Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative, which targets violent crime.
