Elyria Man Killed In Snowmobile Crash

Just after midnight on Martin Luther King Day, a 35-year-old crashed his snowmobile and was killed.

ELYRIA, OH — A 35-year-old man was killed in a snowmobile accident in Elyria Township on early Monday morning.

According to reports, the man drove his snowmobile off Murray Road and crashed into a trash receptacle. The crash sent the man flying, and he hit a utility pole.

The man was rushed to a local hospital, but passed away from his injuries, News 5 reported. The man was wearing a safety helmet at the time of the crash.

Investigators believe alcohol may have been a factor in the accident, Fox 8 noted.
