After 42 years and 17,162 performances, The Fantasticks is considered to be the world's longest running off-Broadway musical production. With a mix of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Donizetti's L'Elisir d'Amore and Rostand's Les Romanesques, The Fantasticks tells the story of forbidden love between the son and daughter of feuding neighbors. But will their love survive when they find out their fathers staged the feud so they would fall in love?
