Ex-Girlfriend Won't Return Avon Lake Man's Car

The man tried repeatedly to get his car back in March, to no avail. He is now asking the police to help him.

AVON LAKE, OH - Breakups are hard. Someone always feels like they got burned. In some cases, the party that feels jilted seeks revenge. In rare cases, that revenge goes too far. In one case, a woman refuses to return her ex-boyfriend's car. Read on to find out why she has the car to begin with.

Private Property Accident, April 5 - Someone hit a woman's car while it was parked in front of 675 Heron Drive. Officers spoke to neighbors but they were unable to provide information on the offending vehicle. There are no suspects in the incident, police say.

Fraud, April 7 - An Electric Boulevard resident reported that someone scammed them out of money via the Internet.

Fraud, April 7 - The accountant for Village on the Green reported that a previous manager had been stealing money from the apartment complex by writing false receipts and turning them into the account.

Traffic Complaint, April 7 - A car blew through a school bus's red light and stop sign. The bus driver brought video footage of the incident to Avon Lake Police on April 7.

Unauthorized Use, April 8 - A Vinewood Drive man reported that his ex-girlfriend refused to return his car. The man had loaned the woman the car and then repeatedly asked for the vehicle to be returned in March. Each time he asked for the car to be returned, the woman had an excuse and refused to return the vehicle. The man is now pressing charges.

Traffic Complaint, April 8 - Police stopped a car driving near Walker Road and Crossings Way. The driver had expired license plates and was driving with a suspended license.

Burglary, April 8 - A home on Schiller Court was burgled on April 8. The back door of the house was forced open, but the would-be thief ran into the resident and ran out of the house without taking anything.

Burglary, April 8 - The juvenile resident of a home on Bounty Way returned home to find the front door to his family's house kicked in. Several items were missing.

Criminal Damaging, April 9 - The side door of a home on Brookfield Avenue was damaged.
