Extreme Cold Will Delay Avon Trash Collection
The city said Republic Services will be shut down on Wednesday, delaying trash collection by a day.

AVON, OH — Trash collection will be delayed by one day this week due to extreme cold, the city of Avon announced.
Republic Services, the city's trash collector, will be shut down on Wednesday. As a result, trash collection will be pushed back one day through Saturday, Feb. 2. Residents are being asked to place their trash outside Friday night.
Similar delays in trash collection are happening across Lorain County. The National Weather Service issued a wind chill warning for much of northern Ohio for Tuesday through Thursday. The agency said "life-threatening" wind chill temperatures will cut through the region.

"Wednesday may be the first time since January 1994 that highs remain below zero in many locations. Low temperatures Wednesday and Thursday morning will be the lowest the region has felt since February 2015 and could break daily records by several degrees," the National Weather Service said.
