Fight Breaks Out At Avon Lake Care Center
Police were called to a local business after an employee reported being assaulted by another staffer.

AVON LAKE, OH — A pair of workers at a local assisted living home got into a heated argument that reportedly turned physical, according to police reports. The two were arguing over who had to work different parts of the campus leading, amazingly, to an assault.

Assault, Nov. 17 — Two employees at the Towne Center Community Campus got into an argument that escalated into an assault. The two workers were debating who was supposed to work the front and back sections of the building. Things apparently got heated and one staffer said another assaulted them. The two provided different accounts to Avon Lake Police and both were sent home for the day. There will be an internal investigation by the company.

Identity Theft, Nov. 16 — An Avon Lake man has been getting calls from a debt collection agency asking him to make payments on a cash advance loan. Unfortunately, the man never took out such a loan. The case has been closed due to lack of evidence, police said.
Identity Theft, Nov. 18 — Approximately $2,000 was wired out of an Avon Lake woman's checking account on Nov. 12. The money was sent to a woman in Florida. Bank representatives said they are trying to dispute the transaction. The case is now closed as well.

Traffic Complaint, Nov. 21 — Police stopped a car on Walker Road for a traffic violation. The driver had a suspended license and was arrested. A passenger in the car had a warrant from Elyria Police and was taken to meet officers from that department.
Suicide Investigation, Nov. 19 — Officers were sent to a residence on Lear Road for a possible dead body. They found a 47-year-old man that had passed away.
