Low Lying Streets Flooding In Lorain, Cuyahoga Counties
Nearly two inches of rain could fall between Thursday and Friday in Northeast Ohio. Watch your basements and drive cautiously.

AVON, OH — Low-lying streets are beginning to flood in Lorain County and Cuyahoga County, according to officials. Nearly two inches of rain is slated to fall in Northeast Ohio between Thursday and Friday mroning, the National Weather Service warns. A flood watch has been issued for Cuyahoga, Lorain, Medina and Summit counties.
"Rain will fill in this morning and increase in intensity today as low pressure tracks from the Mid-Mississippi Valley this morning to Northeast Ohio by this evening. Additional rainfall of 1.5 to 2 inches of rain is expected through tonight with locally higher amounts possible. The axis of heaviest forecast rainfall continues to shift westward and the watch has been expanded to include Huron and Erie Counties in Ohio. This rain will lead to river rises and flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas," the NWS said.
The flood watch is in effect until early Friday morning. The rain is expected to taper off by late Friday or early Saturday.

The heavy rainfall, which could exceed 2 inches in some places, could cause rises on rivers, creeks, and streams. Flooding is possible in low lying areas, the NWS said.
