Heritage Avon Lake is continuing the restoration of the Thomas Folger Home on Lake Rd. This home was built in 1902 and has been a community gathering place for many generations. The restoration process began in 2002 when a group of citizens saved this home from being razed. It has become a community icon along Lake Erie. Many locals residents enjoy the sunsets from this homes back porch.
The current restoration includes all new "Hardie Board" siding that was donated by the James Hardie Company and the installation being done by Northern Hammerworks. This all weather siding will not only enhance the beauty of this structure, but keep it maintenance free. Additionally, a new air conditioning unit has been installed and will keep the climate inside the house comfortable for those that rent the space. All of the restoration has been made possible by donations and members volunteering to preserve Avon Lake's history. Stop by and visit this beautiful old home and enjoy the lakefront view.
