Ford Focus Stolen From Avon Lake Resident

AVON LAKE, OH — Police are searching for a car that was stolen out of the parking lot of an Avon Lake gas station last week.

A Ford Focus was stolen from in front of the Speedway Gas Station, on Walker Road, on July 15. Police said the driver, a 21-year-old, had gone into the store. He left his car unlocked and his keys inside the Focus.

By the time the driver came out of the Speedway store, his car was gone. It was 6:40 p.m., according to police reports.

While the Ford Focus has been entered into the Law Enforcement Automated Data (LEADs) system, Avon Lake police did not initially release any details on the stolen vehicle. However, law enforcement across the state has regularly asked residents to keep their car keys on them at all times, and to make sure their car is locked when no one is inside.
