Free Clothing Being Given To Children In Lorain County
Nearly 3,200 children in Lorain County will receive back-to-school clothes through a local program.

ELYRIA, OH — Nearly 3,200 Lorain County children will receive free back-to-school clothing this month.
"With all of the uncertainty associated with employment and reopening schools this fall, we are pleased that we are able to do a little bit to relieve parents’ anxiety. Although this is our fifth year doing the clothing program, this year the program seems more crucial than ever," said Mike Concibear, Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio Lorain County regional direction.
Federal funds were used to purchase and distribute the clothing. Each child receives approximately $350 worth of clothing. Families could choose from a uniform, play or combination package. Depending on the selection, each child will receive a book bag, gym shoes, a 3-in-1 coat, khakis or joggers, polos or T-shirts, hoodie sweatshirts, socks and hats.

No new orders are being taken at this time. Families who are participating in the program can pick-up their clothing at one of two Boys & Girls Club locations between Sept. 11 and Sept. 21.
The Lorain County Commissioners, the county's Department of Job and Family Services and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio partnered to bring the clothes to families. This is the fifth year of the back-to-schools clothing program. This year is the largest clothing distribution project undertaken by program officials.
