Free Coronavirus Testing Coming To Elyria
The Ohio National Guard will host a pop-up coronavirus testing site in Elyria this weekend.
ELYRIA, OH — Free COVID-19 testing will be held in Elyria on Saturday.
Between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., anyone can go to Elyria City Hall and get a free COVID-19 test. The site is being run by the Ohio Department of Health and the Ohio National Guard.
Quantities of tests may be limited, but participants do not need an appointment or a health care provider's referral. Simply show up and receive a test.

Elyria City Hall is located at 131 Court Street.
The Ohio Department of Health is trying to target underserved areas with free, pop-up COVID-19 testing. The test sites are available to anyone and information on upcoming testing sites can be found at coronavirus.ohio.gov.

From Aug. 19 to Aug. 20, the Ohio National Guard hosted a pop-up COVID-19 testing site in Avon Lake. During those 48 hours, 1,129 tests were conducted. Officials confirmed 31 new COVID-19 cases during the event, including 15 from Lorain County and five from Avon Lake residents.
