Free Rides Available For Lorain County Residents During July 4th

The Lorain County Prosecutor's Office wants to encourage responsible celebrating over the Independence Day holiday.

Lorain County residents can get free rides home during the July 4th holiday thanks to the Lorain County Prosecutor's Office.

Between noon on Wednesday and 3 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, Lorain County residents can call 800-461-9357 and get a free cab ride from Safe and Reliable Transportation, if they mention Arrive Alive or the Lorain County Prosecutors. Residents can also download the LYFT ridesharing app and use the code LCPOUT4 to get a free ride home (limited to 300 rides).

All rides must begin and end in Lorain County to qualify. The free ride promotion covers up to $60 in rides.

The Lorain County Prosecutor's Office said it wants residents to celebrate Independence Day responsibly and is encouraging residents to take advantage of this promotion.

According to AAA, nearly 49 million Americans are planning to travel during the July 4th holiday. Nearly 42 million of those travelers will drive to their destination, the agency forecasts.

“As Independence Day approaches, it’s time for the much loved family road trip and this year will be one for the record books, with more Americans than ever planning vacations,” said Paula Twidale, vice president, AAA Travel. “This holiday builds on the strong travel demand seen for Memorial Day, and with schools now out of session across the country, families coast to coast are eager to travel.”
