Free Seminars For Avon Parents Start September 11

AVON, OH — Avon Schools' annual seminars for parents will begin September 11. All of the sessions are free to attend. Topics range from setting boundaries to dealing with bullying to understanding mental health.

"To support our families, Avon Local Schools annually presents a series of seminars designed to meet specific needs for the family. All seminars are held at the Avon Middle School in the Media Center (7:00—8:30 p.m.)," the district said in a flyer for the events.

This year, there will be six seminars for parents. Each session features a different presenter, with representatives from the FBI and different nonprofit groups set to lead seminars.

The six seminars this year are:

• “Effectively Setting Boundaries with Your Child”
• September 11, presented by Robert Reitman, LPCC
• “Bullying Prevention & Cyberbullying”
• September 25, presented by Todd Walts – Campus Impact, Inc.
• “Equipping Children to Resist Vaping, Drugs & Alcohol”
• October 2, presented by Ashley Truman-Skvor – LCADA Way
• “Getting Your Children to Do What You Really
  Want Them to Do”
• October 16, presented by Robert Reitman, LPCC
• “Keeping Your Kids Safe from Internet Dangers”
• October 30, presented by Kelly Liberti, Special Agent – FBI (retired)
• “Supporting Your Child’s Mental Health”
