Here are the top three stories in Avon-Avon Lake today:

1. Have you been training? It's almost time for the 20th Annual Eagle Run presented by Mercy Health to benefit the Avon School Educational Endowment Fund, French Creek YMCA & other Local Charities. The event will be held on Saturday, May 28, at Avon High School. Will we see you there?(Avon)
2. Do you have some extra clothes you don't need anymore? Why not donate them for a good cause? Brooklan Benesh, a sophomore at Avon Lake High School, has created a community service project called, "Project Firefly". It is a donation project that benefits the homeless kids of Cleveland. In collaboration with "Shoes and Clothes 4 Kids" and "Project ACT of Cleveland," "Project Firefly" collects t-shirts, polos, and socks for elementary through middle school "sized" students. A collection bin is located in the vestibule of Redwood Elementary and the porch of City Hall through May 25. Please consider donating to this worthy cause! (City Of Avon Lake)
3. A big congratulations goes out to Mathew Kuhen and Andrew Pagan, the 2022 recipients of the William H. Bommer Avon Lions Club scholarships. Mathew will major in Computer Science at Kent State University and Andrew will major in Professional Flight and Aviation Engineering at Purdue University. (Facebook)
