The two cities are partnering to host concurrent prescription medication drop-off events.

AVON and AVON LAKE, OH - Two neighboring school districts and police departments are hosting a Clear the Cabinet event on April 8. During the event, residents will be able to drop-off their unused or unwanted prescription medication.
The Avon Police Department and Avon Lake Police Department will be the drop-off sites for the medications. Both departments ask that you please not bring any syringes, liquids, or needles. The Avon Police Department is located at 36145 Detroit Road and the Avon Lake Police Department is located at 32855 Walker Road. Drop-offs will be accepted from 9 a.m. to noon.
The school districts are involved in the program because prescription medications left in houses is sometimes abused by teenagers. With Spring Break rapidly approaching, both districts believe parents should start their spring cleaning early and make sure children don't have access to prescription medications.
