Girl, 12, Killed In Car Crash In Lorain County

The girl was rushed to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where she passed away.

AMHERST TOWNSHIP, OH — A girl, 12, is dead after a multi-car accident on State Route 2. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the girl as Mackenzie Lansberry, of Sheffield.

Three other people were hurt when a box truck hit a Jeep Liberty, which then hit a Subaru Forester, which was pushed into a Chevrolet Silverado. The Ohio State Highway Patrol believes drugs may have played a part in the crash, the Chronicle Telegram reported. Investigation into the circumstance of the five-vehicle crash continues.

Lansberry was in the backseat of the Jeep, with a two-year-old. Emergency personnel had to extricate the 12-year-old from the Liberty. Lansberry was taken to MetroHealth by helicopter and died in the emergency room.
