Good Samaritan Helps Catch Sheffield Robber: Police

SHEFFIELD, OH — A Good Samaritan helped police catch an alleged robber on Monday morning, according to the Lorain County Sheriff's Office.

A little after 3 a.m., deputies got a report from inside a Circle K on Broadway. The caller said there was a robbery in-progress. A masked man was reportedly in the store, demanding the clerk fill a bag with money.

When deputies and police officers arrived, they surrounded the store and waited for the alleged robber to come out. Sure enough, a 19-year-old wearing a ski mask ran out of the store and straight into the waiting arms of the Lorain County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect had a .22-caliber handgun, cigars and cash. The latter two items are believed to have been taken from the Circle K, according to Fox 8.

The 19-year-old has been charged with aggravated robbery and carrying a concealed handgun.
