Great Avon Bike Parade Returns July 4th

The fourth annual parade of decorated bicycles, tricycles, scooters and wagons will kick-off Independence Day.

AVON, OH — As part of the city's Independence Day celebrations, Avon will host the fourth annual Great Avon Bike Parade.

The parade will feature decorated bicycles, scooters, wagons and tricycles. Riders are encouraged to use a patriotic theme to celebrate July 4th. Police and fire vehicles will escort the parade throughout the city.

The parade will start at 11 a.m. at the Avon Aquatic Facility. Riders will embark on a one-mile route with police and fire, and a .2 mile loop around the parking lot, led by the Avon Eagles. The parade will end back at the Aquatic Facility.

Prizes will be awarded for bicycles with the best decorations. The event will also feature a performance of the National Anthem, a community prayer and a presentation of the parade's Grand Marshals.

Participants in the parade will get one complimentary weekday admission pass to the Avon Pool, good from July 4 through the end of the summer season. The parade is open to participants of all ages and is free for attendees.
