Group Wants To Send 50 Lorain County Kids To Camp
Inner-city children will get the chance to go to summer camp thanks to the Boys & Girls Club and Footpath.

LORAIN, OH — Lorain County residents have a chance to help 50 kids go to camp this summer.
The Footpath Foundation is looking for donations of camping supplies and volunteers to assemble camp kits. Donations are being accepted on Sunday, May 5 at the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center in Bay Village.
“We want to make sure all the kids we send to overnight summer camp have everything they need to have a safe and fulfilling experience,” said Footpath President and CEO Mary Macias. “We need your help to ensure that every child is well prepared, since many cannot afford camping gear.”

Donations of camping supplies will be accepted between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on May 5. Volunteers will then assemble the kits from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Everyone is invited to a family hike at 4 p.m.
Donations of the following items are needed: beach towels, bath towels, flashlights, sleeping bags, ponchos, toothbrushes with cases, toothpaste, pillows, twin sheet sets, duffel bags, 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, body wash and reusable sports water bottles.

Volunteers of any age can help assemble the camp kits on May 5.
Footpath and the Boys & Girls Club are working together to send 140 kids inner-city kids to camp over the summer. The Boys & Girls Club said 90 of the selected children are from Cleveland and 50 are from Lorain County.
