The Eagles improved their record to 5-0 (3-0 in the Westshore Conference) with a 27-16 win over Elyria Catholic on Friday night at Avon Stadium.
Despite a light rain most of the evening, the Homecoming crowd cheered Avon to victory over the Panthers in their first meeting as conference foes.

The Eagle defense was dominating, holding the Elyria Catholic offense to negative yardage rushing while Avon's Ross Douglas carried the ball for 178 yards.
The Eagles travel to Rocky River next Friday to battle the Pirates. Game time is 7:00 pm.
