Have Coffee with Avon and Avon Lake Police Oct. 21

AVON, OH - If you've ever wanted to have a conversation with one of your local police officers, your chance will soon be here.

Avon and Avon Lake police officers will be at the Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital, 33300 Cleveland Clinic Blvd. in Avon from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Oct. 21. Complimentary coffee, tea and refreshments will be available. The event is sponsored by the Cleveland Clinic and supported by Chief Duane Streator, Avon Lake PD; Chief Richard Bosley, Avon PD; and, Chief Michael Freeman, North Ridgeville PD.

Coffee with a Cop Day is a national initiative supported by The United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. The concept goes hand in hand with the department's ongoing "Community Conversations." With no agenda and no speeches, both Coffee with a Cop Day and "Community Conversations" allow for a casual atmosphere where the citizens and the officers who serve them get to know each other on a more personal level.
