Here's Why A Helicopter Is Hovering Above Avon Lake
The Illuminating Company is dispatching a helicopter to help with work in Avon Lake.
AVON LAKE, OH — Don't panic if you see a helicopter hovering above Avon Lake in coming days.
The Illuminating Company will dispatch a helicopter to examine transmission lines and do various odd jobs throughout Avon Lake. The chopper's presence will depend on the weather.
The helicopter will be seen moving linemen and equipment to work areas or hovering over work areas while linemen perform work via a platform attached to the helicopter.

The helicopter is scheduled to be in and around Avon Lake through Dec. 18, the city said on social media.
The National Weather Service said there is a chance of rain on Friday evening and all of Saturday. Winds could kick up to 15 mph on Saturday, which could pose problems for the helicopter. Otherwise, coming days appear precipitation-free and should offer relatively calm skies.
