ELYRIA, OH — A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged for a Nov. 2017 hit-skip accident that caused serious injuries to two people. Alexander Kilgore has been charged with two counts of aggravated vehicular assault.

On Nov. 24, 2017 Kilgore allegedly drove a stolen 2015 Jeep Wrangler south on Lake Avenue and hit a Ford Flex with two people inside. He then ran from the scene on foot, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

The troopers said Kilgore ran into Lake Beverage, bought an item and was seen on surveillance footage. The Patrol said tips from the public helped capture Kilgore.
