Holiday Toy & Bicycle Giveaway To Be Held In Lorain County

The Lorain County Sheriff's Office has purchased 50 bicycles to giveaway to local families during the holiday season.

ELYRIA, OH — A toy and bike giveaway will be held Dec. 18 at the Elyria Bicycle Center.

The giveaway is being sponsored by the Lorain County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff's employees purchased 50 bicycles to be given away, in addition to other toys. Snacks and a local coffee vendor will also be on-hand to keep families warm and full.

"We’re excited for this year’s event, the “Bike and Toy” giveaway and hope to reach as many kids as possible. All Lorain County residents are welcomed," the Sheriff's office said in a statement.

The Toy and Bike event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., unless all items are given away prior to the store's 4 p.m. closing. Parents can bring their children or come alone so their child can open the gift on Christmas.

Last year, the Lorain County Sheriff's Office made 22 $500 donations to local nonprofits and churches during the holiday season.
