Holy Trinity Helps Bring Clean Water to South Sudan

Summer reading brings inspiration for Holy Trinity School 6th Graders.

Last summer, Holy Trinity School's 6th graders were assigned A Long Walk to Water by Salva Dut as part of their summer reading requirement. Upon returning to school in the fall, the students - along with their teachers - were inspired by the story and committed themselves to raising funds for clean water wells. After careful planning and a dedication to selfless acts of good will, the South Sudan Well collection has come to an end. Mrs. Beth Davis, Theology teacher at the school, could not be more proud. "We raised $10.000 and saw the lessons that were taught to the students about being selfless and doing the works of Christ. " She continued, "With the money we will have the naming rights to two wells. The first well will read “Holy Trinity School, Avon, Ohio.” The second well will read “Holy Trinity, Avon, Ohio Class of 2020.”

On behalf of the Holy Trinity students, thank you to all who supported this service project. This dollar amount could not have been raised without the help of our parish, school, and Avon community. God Bless!
