Homecoming Court Announced For Avon, Avon Lake

Meet the Kings and Queens of Homecoming for both the Avon Eagles and Avon Lake Shoremen.

AVON, OH β€” On Friday night, the Avon Eagles football team dismantled the Lakewood Rangers, 54-21. It was a dominant showing for the number one team in Division II, Region 6. It was also one heck of a way to cap off Homecoming Week.

Prior to the 7 p.m. game, there was a Homecoming court presentation on the field. King and Queen of Homecoming were announced as students Drew Horton and Morgan Nemcek.

Also on Friday night, the Avon Lake Shoremen took the field at Avon Lake Memorial Stadium. They squared off with Amherst Steele in Avon Lake's own Homecoming game.

While not quite as dominant as Avon, the Shoremen still won their game 40-28.

At 6:20 p.m., the high school announced its Homecoming King and Queen: Sydney Petonic and Evan Thomas.

Avon Lake celebrated its football team on Saturday with a parade near Blesser Park. A Homecoming dance was then held for the students.
