Homecoming Week In Avon, Avon Lake: Parade, Dance, Football Schedule
Nothing says fall like homecoming football games. The community will come together to celebrate its hometown team this week.

AVON, OH — Homecoming football will be played this week in both Avon and Avon Lake. For students, the fun will begin Thursday with "theme" days, leading up to the big games on Friday. Meanwhile, the community will have plenty of opportunities to celebrate their team throughout the week.
Avon's Homecoming Parade will be held Oct. 5 at 6:30 p.m. The event will start at Avon High School, 37545 Detroit Rd. and proceed down Detroit to Joe Firment Chevrolet Stadium, 3075 Stoney Ridge Rd. A pep rally and powder puff football game will be held after the parade.
On Friday, Avon will take on Lakewood High School in the homecoming football game. Homecoming week at Avon High School will culminate Saturday, Oct. 7, with a dance at Avon High School.

Spirit week will kick off at Avon Lake High School with theme days on Thursday. That same day, Oct. 5, the North Coast Rotary Club Pizza Bake-off will be held at the Avon Lake High School Commons, 175 Avon Belden Rd., from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
On Oct. 6, the Avon Lake Shoremen will take on Amherst High School at 7 p.m. at Avon Lake Memorial Stadium, 175 Avon Belden Rd. Prior to the game, there will be a homecoming court presentation, starting at 6:20 p.m.
The community will then be able to celebrate its hometown football team at the homecoming parade on Saturday. That will start at 10:30 a.m. at Bleser Park. The route will take participants out of the park, through the developments, down Avon Belden Road and to the high school.
Finally, homecoming week in Avon Lake will end with a homecoming dance at Avon Lake High School at 7 p.m.
