How Lorain County Ranks For COVID-19 Spread
Ohio officials released a county-by-county ranking of COVID-19 spread.

AVON LAKE, OH — Of Ohio's 88 counties, Lorain County has the 40th most spread of COVID-19 locally, according to the state health department.
During a news conference on Tuesday, Gov. Mike DeWine revealed a new county-by-county ranking system for COVID-19 spread. He said the tool should be used by school districts to inform decisions on reopening protocols.
According to the chart, Lorain County currently has the 40th highest rate of spread of COVID-19 locally. Between July 21 and Aug. 3, Lorain averaged 68.8 cases per 100,000 residents.

There are currently 211 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Lorain County, the state health department said. The county is classified as "Orange" by the Ohio Public Health Advisory System.
