How Will Avon Lake Look In 20 Years? Have Your Say In New Survey
The city is busy assembling the Comprehensive Plan, a guidance document for the next two decades, and resident input is needed.

AVON LAKE, OH — Residents of Avon Lake have a chance to make their voices heard on the future of their community. The city is developing its Comprehensive Plan — a "blueprint" for the next 10 to 20 years of development — and officials want to know how you think the city should grow.
The Comprehensive Plan is being developed by assessing the current conditions of the city, examining how other communities developed, and engaged with residents to understand their collective vision for the future. To that end, the city has released a survey polling residents on future development.
The survey was first released in late September. The poll can be accessed by clicking here.

The Comprehensive Plan will not address future zoning, or alter zoning legislation. The Plan will also not alter the city's budget or capital improvement plans, the city said on the project website. Instead, the Plan will be used as a type of compass, guiding the city through the future.
OHM Advisors, along with city officials, residents, and a municipal steering committee, are assembling the Comprehensive Plan. OHM Advisors is an integrated architecture and engineering firm with offices in downtown Cleveland, Akron and Columbus.
