Intoxicated Driver Hits Parked Car In Avon Lake

The driver blew a .206 on a breath test, police said.

AVON LAKE, OH — A drunken driver hit a parked car in Avon Lake this month, according to police records. When police found the driver, after the crash, he told officers he should not have been driving.

The accident happened on Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. on Parsons Drive. When police arrived, they found a 54-year-old man in a driveway who was struggling to stand on his own. When he spoke, he slurred his words, according to Avon Lake police records.

The man said he was driving erratically because of a medication he was taking. He then invited police into his home and showed officers the medications he was taking.

He then told police he had been at a bar, drinking, according to police records. Officers told the man his car was going to be towed and gave him a chance to remove his property from the vehicle.

The man was given a breath test and he blew a .206.

The man was charged with operating a vehicle impaired.
