Joseph Breszinsky, 93, of Avon Lake and formerly of Cleveland, passed away, Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 at the Bradley Bay Health Center.
Mr. Breszinsky was born Oct. 29, 1918 in New Kensington, PA and has lived in Avon Lake since 1951.
From 1942 to 1945 he served in the US Army on loan to the US Navy stationed in the South Pacific. In the 1950s he began a career BF Goodrich, Avon Lake in the maintenance department, as a machinist and tool and die cutter, holding several patents. He remained with the company until his retirement in 1981.

Mr. Breszinsky was a member of , Avon Lake, where he worked as a janitor for many years. His family described his as a tinkerer saying he was the type of individual that could fix anything.
He enjoyed gardening, growing zucchini and other vegetables but was especially know for his horseradish.

Mr. Breszinsky is survived by children James Breszinsky of Cambridge, Idaho and Patricia Doherty (Alan) of Signal Mountain, TN. He is also survived by grandchildren Jennifer and Brian. He is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Lillian Osika, his parents Sylvester and Mary (nee Leckvatch), four brothers and two sisters.
