Juvenile Arrested For Possession Of Drugs In Avon Lake

The juvenile was stopped after he drove onto a closed road in the city.

AVON LAKE, OH — Police arrested a juvenile for possession of drugs last week. Officers caught the juvenile after he drove his car onto a closed street.

Identity Theft, Aug. 21 — Someone made fraudulent charges on an Avon Lake resident's Huntington Bank debit card. About $600 was withdrawn from the resident's account by a person in Kentucky. Police were unable to ID a suspect.

Criminal Mischief, Aug. 24 — Someone spray painted a resident's Jeep purple and green.

Traffic Complaint, Aug. 26 — Police cited a dump truck for two equipment violations.

Juvenile Complaint, Aug. 28 — The mother of a 17-year-old called police when her daughter got unruly on Aug. 28. Officers responded to the scene and calmed the conflict down. The girl has been charged with unruly juvenile.

Drug Investigation, Aug. 29 — Patrolling officers saw a suspicious vehicle in the area of Redwood Boulevard and Avon Belden Road. The driver maneuvered his car onto a closed road, despite big signs warning drivers not to enter the road. The driver, a juvenile, was stopped by police. He had a controlled substance on his person and was arrested.

Traffic Complaint, Aug. 29 — Police spotted a man slumped over the steering wheel of a running vehicle parked on Hanford Boulevard. The driver appeared to be intoxicated and was arrested for physical control of a motor vehicle.
