Police and paramedics took the juvenile to a local hospital after he texted someone and said he wasn't feeling good.

AVON LAKE, OH — A juvenile Avon Lake resident was rushed to a local hospital after they ingested too many pills, according to police reports. The juvenile is believed to have since recovered, an Avon Lake Police spokesperson told Patch.
The incident happened March 18 between 11:50 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. That's when the juvenile, who lives on Lake Road, texted someone and said they had taken pills and did not feel good. That person then contacted the police.
Paramedics and officers rushed to the scene. They found the juvenile inside his house. They then took him to the hospital.

Police did say that this appears to be a simple drug abuse case and not an attempted suicide. They also said that this is not a matter for Children's Services.
Police said charges may be pending from the city, so they could not release what drug was ingested or how much. They also could not say how much of the drug they found and confiscated from the home.

While it's unclear what the juvenile ingested, it is clear that prescription medications have led to addiction problems for Ohioans and residents throughout the nation. That's why Avon Lake Police will again host a drop-off site during National Drug Take Back Day on April 28.
The drop-off site is at the Avon Lake Police Department, 32855 Walker Rd. Liquid medications will not be accepted at the department.
