Juvenile Runs From Police In Avon Lake, Had Drugs In His Car

When police pulled over the juvenile's car, he took off running. He's now being charged with resisting arrest.

AVON LAKE, OH —Marijuana and another controlled substance were found during traffic stops in Avon Lake recently. At least one of the people arrested by police was a juvenile, according to police records obtained by Patch.

On April 10, an officer spotted a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier with counterfeit license plates. He stopped the car on Curtis Drive, near Lake Road.

The driver had a temporary driver's permit and was arrested. Police then found about 50 grams of marijuana in the car, along with drug paraphernalia.

A day later, on April 11, police made another traffic stop, this time on Walker Road, near Avondale Avenue. The driver was a juvenile (meaning they were under 18), but had a felony warrant for their arrest. Instead of surrendering to police, the juvenile fought with police and ran from the scene.

The juvenile is going to be charged with possession of a controlled substance (which appears to have been found in the car), resisting arrest, obstructing official business, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of criminal tools and illegally having a weapon.
