Juveniles Threaten Each Other With Knives In Avon Lake, Or Do They?

Callers reported a juvenile holding a knife to another juvenile's throat. But everything was not how it appeared.

AVON LAKE, OH — Police were called to the scene of a reportedly dangerous incident between a group of juveniles. However, when they arrived it turned out to be much ado about nothing. Read on for more information on the incident.

Traffic Complaint, June 21 - Police stopped a truck hauling a boat for driving with expired license plates. After the traffic stop, police had the truck and boat towed.

Possession of a Controlled Substance, June 21 - Callers reported a suspicious vehicle on Hermann Drive. Police located the vehicle and cited a juvenile in the vehicle for possession of marijuana.

Found Property, June 22 - A Recreation Department employee found an iPhone at Veteran's Park. The employee brought the phone to Avon Lake Police for safe keeping.

Identity Theft, June 22 - An Avon Lake resident received a bill for a credit card she never applied for. When the resident called the credit card company, she was informed she owed $1,400 to the company.

Traffic Complaint, June 24 - Police stopped a driver for driving with a suspended license and expired license plates.

OVI, June 24 - An intoxicated man was stopped on Walker Road near the Bay Village border. After being arrested, the man blew a .185 on a breath test.

Disturbance, June 25 - Two patrons at a local bar got into an argument that spilled into the parking lot. When one of the patrons tried to leave, the other patron tried to pull him out of his car. So, the patron struck the other with his car door.

Juvenile Complaint, June 25 - A possibly nefarious situation turned out to be much smoke and little fire. A report came in that a juvenile held a knife to another juvenile's throat, threatening them. However, when police investigated the situation, it turned out that one juvenile had simply been showing off a pocket knife. All of the juveniles at the scene said they never felt threatened.
