Following earlier this month, Buller was the “go-to” candidate given that she had spent the last 13 years as the assistant principal of Avon High, said.

“Mrs. Buller is highly experienced and possesses the necessary traits and has enhanced her skills and abilities to take Avon High School to the next level.”
As assistant principal, she earned $83,000, and the school board is currently determining the amount of her new salary.
Buller, 38, reflected on her time in Avon that began in 1994 as a language arts teacher. At the time, she was teaching the senior class -- all 84 of them. This year's graduating class was 255, the largest in Avon history.
"When I took the teaching position, I quickly fell in love with Avon and my husband and I have made it our home for 16 years," Buller said. "We are Eagles through and through. I wouldn't want to raise my children anywhere else."
She was named assistant principal in 1998 and moved up into that position at the same time current high school opened its doors.
"It has been an amazing journey," she said. "While being the assistant principal and one who administered discipline -- among a multitude of other responsibilities such as special education, the Avon Academy, etc. -- I truly prided myself on being an advocate for our students. I feel a great sense of devotion and loyalty toward the student body."
The board will also spend the next month interviewing candidates to fill the assistant principal position before the start of the 2011-12 school year.
On July 5, Coffman – who resigned from Avon with one year left on his three-year contract – was approved by the Parma Board of Education to become the principal of Parma Senior High School, starting in August.
