Lake Erie Commission Gets New Director
Governor Mike DeWine appointed Joy Mulinex to the position on Friday. She will begin work Feb. 22.

Governor Mike DeWine appointed a Director of the Lake Erie Commission, Joy Mulinex, this week. The appointment goes into effect Feb. 22, 2019.
“Protecting Lake Erie is a priority of my administration,” DeWine said. “Addressing the challenges it faces will take collaboration and hard work. I am confident that Joy Mulinex will serve as a strong voice for Lake Erie in this key role in my administration.”
Mulinex is currently the director of governmental relations for the Western Reserve Land Conservancy, where she develops and implements the group's federal and state public policy platform.

Before her position with the Western Reserve Land Conservancy, Mulinex managed the bipartisan U.S. House and Senate Great Lakes Task Force in Washington, D.C. She also had longtime connections to DeWine, working as his legislative counsel from 1991 to 2001.

Mulinex is also on the board of the Cleveland Water Alliance, Alliance for the Great Lakes, and the U.S. EPA Great Lakes Advisory Board.
The Ohio Lake Erie Commission works on policies, programs, and priorities connected to the preservation of the lake.
