Leaf Collection Starts October 24 In Avon
Colorful foliage will soon clutter Ohio lawns. To alleviate the nuisance, crews will collect leaf piles from around Avon.
AVON, OH — It's fall in Ohio and that means colorful foliage. It also means falling leaves cluttering lawns. In Avon, the city will soon help residents conquer that particular problem.
Citywide leaf collection will start October 24 and continue, weather permitting, through December 6, the city said. All leaves should be raked on the front lawn and should not spill into the street. Crews will then collect the leaves from curbside.
The city laid out some guidelines for the impending leaf collection process:

- Leaves should be raked together on the tree lawn curb area
- Leaves should be piled away from storm drains, water meter covers and parked cars
- Leaves should not be piled in the street
- Remove stones, litter, branches and other items from leaf piles
- Tall grass should be bagged separately from leaves and will be collected on bulk trash day
After citywide leaf collection ends, leaves can be placed in brown bags and placed outside during bulk trash day.
